Policy experts Nina DeJonghe, MPP and Ryann Hill, MPH will give us a better understanding of what to expect with administration change and how it impacts health policies, funding and initiatives. Nina DeJonghe, MPP is a seasoned public policy professional with several years of leadership, legislative, and non-profit experience.  As the Director of Government Relations for the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), she oversees the advocacy functions for the Council of Academic Family Medicine (CAFM), which comprises the leadership of academic family medicine organizations. Nina liaises with Congress, federal agencies, external organizations, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate efforts that advance family medicine priorities. Her current advocacy efforts address critical issues such as workforce shortages, increasing funding for primary care research, expanding Graduate Medical Education (GME), and enhancing patient accessibility to healthcare services to improve community outcomes nationwide.

 

Ryann Hill, MPH is the CEO and Founder of Indigo Hill Strategies, a boutique government affairs firm specializing in navigating the complex landscape of policy, lobbying, and strategic consulting to empower organizations to achieve impactful change. Prior to founding Indigo Hill Strategies, Ryann held several executive-level government affairs and public policy positions in the private sector. She began her career in the House office of Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services alum.  Ms. Hill has over 10 years of experience navigating the complex intersection of policy, politics, and business. With a background in health policy, Ryann has successfully advocated for a diverse range of issues, from complex healthcare regulations to economic development initiatives for underserved populations. Her strategic insights and deep understanding of legislative processes have made her a trusted expert on a wide range of healthcare issues. Ryann is known for her ability to build strong relationships with policymakers, craft compelling policy proposals, and manage high-stakes negotiations. Passionate about civic engagement and public policy, she is committed to shaping effective and equitable policies that drive positive change.
